Celluma LED Light Therapy in Barrhaven, Ottawa Ontario
LED (Light emitting Diode) uses different wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin at different depths to trigger a biological effect. The closer the device is to the skin, the more energy is absorbed by the cells
Blue Light - Acne
Acne develops when an abundance of dead skin cells and sebum plug pores. As sebum production continues to build under the plug in the skin’s surface, it becomes infected with Propioni Bacterium, causing swelling, redness, and inflammation
Mild acne has 25% - 30% higher sebum
Severe cases of acne has 50% - 60% higher sebum
The Blue light with a depth of 465 Nanometers acts on our sebaceous glands to produce less oil and causes the release of singlet oxygen molecules having the biological effect of killing the bacteria responsible for acne (Propioni Bacterium)
Red light - Acne
Working in conjunction with the blue light, the red light at 640 Nanometer depth will work on reducing the redness and inflammation from the acne
A reduction in lesions and overall improvement in skin appearance is often seen in only a matter of weeks. Of course, outcomes vary depending on severity of the condition and compliance to recommended protocols. LED Light Therapy is recommended as a series of treatments 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks, then dropped to a maintenance of once a month
Collagen and elastin in the skin act in ways similar to the foundation of a home. With age, the foundation breaks down and there's less support holding the structure up. The stronger you can keep that foundation, the longer the longevity of what's holding it up
The Red LED Light works on Fibroblast cells. Those are the cells found in connective tissue and responsible for producing collagen and elastin.
The light activates these cells, and stimulate the production of healthy collagen and elastin
Let’s quickly run through two biology basics: the Krebs Cycle and Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP).
1. The Krebs cycle is what generates cellular energy inside your body. Light activation boosts the body’s natural Krebs Cycle which in turn assists in creating more ATP.
2. ATP is the energy currency of all the cells in your body. When your body has sufficient ATP levels, then it has more energy to spend on restorative processes such as collagen elastin production – these are the proteins your body uses to heal itself.
In summary: Light Therapy = Enhanced Krebs (energy) Cycle = Greater ATP Availability = More Collagen
When all of those important metabolic events are happening, it then results in greater outcomes beyond just collagen production. We see several benefits such as:
Celluma LED infrared light therapy is a modern approach to chronic pain management. Free from harmful chemicals and the risk of dependency, light therapy is a more natural method of healing your body from the inside out
Penetrate deep below the skin’s surface layer, 880 Nanometers, to the bone, to target muscle and joint pain at the source, providing much-needed relief for people who suffer from inflammation, muscle injury, and arthritis.
Chronic pain management has been clinically proven to provide therapeutic benefits across an array of medical applications, penetrating deep beyond the skin’s surface to enhance health at the cellular level
Light energy stimulates the release of nitric oxide, causing blood vessels to increase in diameter (vasodilation) and allowing more blood flow, oxygen, and other important factors to be delivered. This increase in oxygen and nutrients, along with stimulation of the light energy emitted from Celluma LED devices increases ATP production, which activates pain relieving pathways. This decreases pain and inflammation, and increases tissue regeneration in the localized area.
Originally developed by NASA engineers for pain management and injury treatment on long-term space missions, light therapy is used today as a safe and natural method of treating a variety of pain and skin conditions.
Series of 8 stand alone 30 min treatments, scheduled 2x a week for 1 month (Includes basic cleansing prior to treatment)
